About Studio Gangsta

Studio Gangsta's journey from lil Drummer Boy to Rapper and Music Producer

What it do my peoples. If you love the way music sounded back in the day when Boom Boxes and classic Hip Hop ruled the streets, then you most definitely came to the right place here at East Boogie Beats. Those were good times and although music has evolved and changed drastically, some of us old heads refuse to let the classic sound of yesterday pass away. That's right. we're bringing it all back! This is Studio Gangsta hailing from East St. Louis (The East Boogie) and I appreciate that you took the time to stop by and learn how I found my way into the world of music.

As a young G, I, like many other kids back in the day liked to run the streets, kick it at the mall and ball games with my homies, but what I did not anticipate was my love for music as a 5-year-old drummer paying me a surprise visit, to remind me not only where I came from... but also where my true calling was meant to take me.

This was a welcome surprise, but it wasn't until years later following my military service that I was able to buckle down and begin my quest... to evolve from that lil ole drummer boy into a well-respected rapper and music producer.

And just to let you know how serious I was about this new calling, I went all in from the beginning by investing in the best music production equipment I could get my hands on, even though I realized it was going to be a long road concerning the learning curve of using my new gear to it's full potential. For me... it was really a personal declaration of commitment to music while also starting out with the production power I knew I would need to make my dream a reality.

My current musical weapons of choice for bringin' that classic sound back are the Akai MPCX Sampling Workstation, the Akai MPK 261 Keyboard Midi Controller, Akai MPC 2 Software, and Omnisphere.

Thanks again for stopping by to find out a little about me and for your interests in East Boogie Beats.
